One hundred years ago this month "The Great
Earthquake" destroyed Kingston & it's environs.
Just days before, internationally famous geologist, Dr
Vaughan Cornish & his wife had landed in Kingston as part of their round
the world trip. Both were severely injured in the 'quake & returned home
to recover.
However, within months Dr Cornish returned to study the
event & produced several reports as well as this map which is available
as part of our Antique Maps collection. |
